CHILD PROTECTION

Child abuse has become a global problem. International and national organizations, including the government, have all raised the issue of how to protect children from various problems, such as violence against children at home, at school, and even in public places. We know that some of the safest places for children are their homes, places of worship, and schools because school is a place of teaching and learning. But there is also a lot of violence against children in schools, whether it is violence between teachers and pupils, whether it is violence between pupils and other pupils caused by jealousy and envy because one pupil is better than another, or because of the problem of economic class differences or other causes that lead to violence between pupils.

The problems are violence between students, especially between children’s children (kindergarten), elementary schools (primary school), first-style schools (junior high school), top-down schools (high school), and even the university. Here, the ADRH Foundation participates in the child protection program through training activities, seminars, workshops, and even retreats specifically for teachers, parents, and children. This activity started at the International Quesadhip Ruak School (IQRS). Since 2014, ADRH has also carried out activities in middle and high schools in Baucau, Lekisa, and the University in Dili. It is the sustainability of the existing program.
